Hey, I’m Samia Williams and my mom, Sara Gentry, are currently in trouble. It’s in the midst of summer in Illinois and our area has continued to get high temperatures and we were fine because we had electricity but now we’re at risk for that being shut off.
We don’t have central air so we’ve had two box conditioners in our windows (one in my headroom and the other in my kitchen) that’s been cooling our house down since early June.
My mom has a disability check that usually comes in every month (that barely covers our bills but we make do) on the third but this month they have held her check. During the period her check is being held is the time all of our bills are due.
We’re already behind on rent because the person we live wit stole the money and don’t put it towards the lot rent like he was suppose to. So if we don’t pay that…we can be evicted. Then, we don’t pay water because our area has our own water supply. So our last big bill would be our phones ($100 together) and our electric.
I wouldn’t be too worried about my electric if it wasn’t for the fact that without electric we have nothing. I don’t have any cable or satellite anyway so this isn’t why I’m upset, it’s because we have to have some form of cold air in our house.
We live in a four bedroom trailer with tin siding so it heats up really quickly. Within the trailer it’s me, my mother, Dave, and our three animals.
My phone is currently shut off and on typing this at McDonald’s (my neighbor gave me $10 to eat on) and my mom is at home calling countless people but no one is able to help.
All of the money donated will go to our bills, the most important ones are our lot rent (which we owe backpay on) and our electric.
So if you can even donate a dollar, thank you. I understand $500 is a lot, and I feel foolish for asking but we have no where else to turn to. And if you can’t donate at all please reblog and share to spread the word.
Thank you,
Samia WilliamsThe donation link is: https://www.gofundme.com/2d4w24w4
